OUR OHIO SERVICE AREAS

Company Profile by Chad Wolfe, owner

My family has very old, very deep roots in the Gahanna and Blacklick area. I grew up with stories from my dad and grandpa about our history traced back to the original community and farms before the city became a city. I was privileged to work at Gahanna Hardware as a my first job when I turned 16. I learned all of the values involved in being dependable, dedicated, and honest in the work place. Simply just be straight with people. I learned a lot about all of the general repair and skills to think and work through mechanical and handyman tasks and attribute those skills to being involved at the right time and place to be developed. Robert the owner was an excellent teacher on everything hardware related, as well as mentorship on being a stand up guy in the work world. I graduated high school from Gahanna Lincoln, was accepted to Ohio State and decided I really just couldn’t sit in a classroom anymore. I am a creative person that sees in three dimensional thoughts and felt that I would be better suited to work with my hands.

I started as a truck driver and shop guy for a Columbus based commercial plumbing company at age 18. George the owner was a well respected plumbing contractor throughout all of the contracting world, City departments, and community that treated everyone fairly, with respect, and encouraged quality workmanship. I view George as a prime model of how an owner should lead his company. I was moved into the field after about a year, and attended 4 years of APHC plumbing school for my education. I tend to set goals on what I can accomplish in a days time, and get frustrated with myself if I fall short. This has helped me tremendously with my career at all the different levels I have been involved in throughout the years. I have been privileged to have worked around and been mentored by some of the best leaders in the trade.

I worked for George's company for 13 years and started BCI after his retirement. George, thank you for what you saw in me and for all of your encouragement over the years! During this time I learned more than just plumbing, piping, and mechanical skills. I learned estimation, project management, design build, business skills, financials, and how to sacrifice as an owner in order to take care of your employees. I also saw the value of what it means to operate on behalf of your customers' true needs rather than overselling, strong-arming them, or convincing them of things they don’t want or need. If I wouldn’t do it at my house, I wouldn’t do it at yours.

I started BCI because I am motivated by the entire process. I enjoy the sale of the job, the customer relationships we build, and especially the innovative solutions that myself and the people I am surrounded by are able to offer on the work we perform. I am enthusiastic on all of the physical installations as well. So many aspects of our lives are overcomplicated and I can bring a simplified process to so much that we encounter in the plumbing world. We have based our business on working with quality customers that value our knowledge, skill, and desire to build long term relationships with us. We are not out for a quick sale, or a one time customer, but rather a solid customer/contractor relationship that will last. In turn we have the same view with our employees and their families.
